Getting dunked!

HELLO!!

We've had a busy weekend here in Rochester. Allison's fundraiser for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation was this weekend. It was called Dunk-A-Doc. A lot of us got wet and raised a good bit of money for the foundation. Kate was there all day with Momma because Daddy was on call and got stuck at work. She was such a trooper! Thanks to the Higuchi's for helping watch her for me! Ellie is her favorite babysitter!

Well, I got some fun pics today while the two of us were hanging out. It was my last day of maternity leave. I go back to work for good tomorrow. I'm a little sad, but more worried about getting everywhere on time. It will be a whole different ball game from last month when the grandma's where here and I only had three and a half blocks to go! I'm sure it will be fine and I know she will have a great day. She's such a people watcher that she LOVES daycare! We'll let you know how things are going. Have a good week.

I'm a big girl now!

Hello! Well, we've been very busy the last couple of weeks. Kate took her first plane trip to Tennessee. She was such a good baby!! And we had a wonderful visit. I will try to post some pics of the trip soon. Today while we were hanging out at home, we tried putting Kate in the Bumbo chair. She is holding herself up so well now that she was able to sit there perfectly! She likes the independence! Hope you enjoy and will talk to you soon.

Eight chilly miles!

Well, mother nature is reminding us that we live in Minnesota! It was a brisk morning with temps around 50 degrees. But it was perfect running weather. The team met up and ran this morning for our longest run yet...eight miles! Kate had to join us because we met up pretty early. She was so good. She slept through the night last night (three out of the last five) and woke up around 5:15. She got a bite to eat and warm clothes on and we were good to go! She slept through most of the run but was all smiles when we got home. I must send some serious props to Jeanne and Lizzie for helping me push the jogging stoller! I wouldn't have been able to go nearly as far pushing it the entire run.

Tomorrow's a big day...our first flight with Kate. She is pretty pumped about the trip. She told me that this morning. Anyway, we will let you know how it goes! Wish us luck!

Lots to talk about!

Hello! It's been a while since I've written and we have so much to talk about! While Nannie was here watching me last week, we had a visit from Aunt Judy, Cousin Alyson and Great Grandma. It was so much fun! Here we are getting ready for some football!!!!

Go Chiefs!!!

As you can see, she's not so sure about how well the season is going to go for the KC Chiefs! Well in other news, on Friday, August 29th, Kate had another big event...she got a new cousin! After a scary entry into this world, baby Robert Bryce Baldwin is now doing great and is home with Mom, Dad and very proud big brother Max! And his Aunt Allison is so proud of him and his momma! And his momma's doctors!!! We will get some pics of Kate and Bryce in one week when we get home to Tennessee.

Speaking of Tennessee, Kate watched her first Tennessee football game last night. She was so excited, but couldn't stay awake for the whole game. Which is probably a good thing since we BLEW it! Here's what she thinks about that...

After watching Fulmer's "prevent-defense"....

I share her disgust! Anyway, in more exciting news...Kate has now slept through the night two nights in a row!!! It may not happen again for a month, but it has happened twice and I'm so HAPPY!! It was such a surprise the first night. She went to bed around 10:30 and when I rolled over and saw 6:00 on the clock, I about fell out of bed! I actually woke up Chris to let him know! She had been fussy all day so we really thought it was going to be a rough night. And I had pretty much convinced myself it wouldn't happen again for a while, so last night was just as surprising. It must be because she was so happy to get a new car! Yes, that is right. We have another new car! We needed something a little bigger and a lot safer so this time it was Mom's turn for a new vehicle. We got a 2006 Honda Pilot. I LOVE it! Here are a few pics that were taken this am with Kate in hand (aka not the best pics in the world!).

Mommy's new car!!!

Well, I think that is about all there is for now. We're going to get all the supplies for the daycare together today and introduce Kate to her "teachers." This place has a curriculum and tutition. Considering it is nearly as much as our medical school tutition, she better know her alphabet after the first week!! Just kidding! More to come soon as we have exciting stuff coming up with Kate's first plane ride and our visit to Tennessee! Talk to you soon!
