March Madness

Hello from the Hettinger's. I know it has been a really long time since I updated, as many of you have pointed out! :) We have been busy as usual. Kate is getting bigger and changing everyday. By getting bigger, I mean heavier. Definitely not a lot taller! She's a shorty...only at the 16th percentile for her height! We think it makes her look even cuter as she crawls around and walks along the furniture. She's trying really hard to walk, but hasn't taken any steps by herself yet. In other Kate news, we've been having a really hard time with ear infections. She's gone through several antibiotics and we can't get them cleared up. So we are going to have her hearing checked tomorrow and see the ENT doctors on Tuesday. We may have to put tubes in her ears. We'll see how the appointment goes and keep you posted.
Work is going well for Chris and Allison. Chris is getting close to being done with his fourth year in residency...one more to go! He's on the job search now. We're hoping to narrow things down in the next month or two. I'm still in limbo about my job for next year. With the economy in the tank, Mayo is tightening up everything. They are still hopeful about renewing my position, but still haven't told me anything for sure. It's a little scary not knowing, but I have faith it will work out.

Finally....February!

Sorry it has been so long since we last updated you all on our lives in Minnesota. It was a January worth forgetting for me! It started out nice, that was January 1st. But I should have gotten a clue on the 3rd when we missed our flight to Nashville that it was a bad omen! Then with Chris gone, the temperature dropping to inhumane levels and with Kate getting her first round of winter illness, I must say I was glad to see the calendar change to February. Not to mention I lost my camera and had a fender-bender with my neighbor...see what I mean? But the camera has been found and the car fixed. Chris is home, even if he is working a lot! And Kate got better, even though she just got another bug! This time a GI bug that left lots of laundry! But she's getting better and putting back on the nearly-one-pound weight loss (which happened in less than a day)! And now I'm sitting here in peace and quiet with my baby in bed, my hubby at work and my m&m's that I decided to eat because it is valentine's day. I must say I'm one lucky girl! Not because Chris is at work...because I have peace and quiet! And m&m's! And a beautiful family. Here are some pics to prove it. Hope you all have a wonderful valentine's day! Love you!

I didn't quite make it to midnight (more like 8:30) but I was so happy to celebrate this morning. I've also made some new year's resolutions. One is to be able to hold myself up on my arms and legs. I'm six months old!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

We celebrated my six month birthday today with early Christmas! As you can see, I was decked out for the occasion. Aren't I beautiful!!! Nannie, Sissy, Uncle Mike and Aunt Rachel drove through a blizzard to come see me. They brought my good friend CJ back home for the weekend, too!

Then we got to open presents! I got a baby doll, some pretty clothes, some winter boots and a movie about the muppets! I had so much fun trying to eat the wrapping paper. It was a fun day. Mommy kept saying she couldn't believe I was already six months old! Well, I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We will be going to Tennessee in January for late-Christmas. We'll be sure to post some pics between now and then.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Well, we definitely have so much to be thankful for! What a difference a year makes. Last Thanksgiving, Chris and I announced we were expecting a little baby. We had no idea how much better our lives would become after having such a beautiful baby girl. Kate graced our Thanksgiving table this year and even had her own Thanksgiving dinner! Hello Strangers!

It's been quite a while since we last updated everyone. We've had a very busy month! I'm now 5 months old and I've been changing so much. We went to San Antonio earlier this month for Mommy's race. She and Aunt Emily ran for just over two hours and successfully completed the half marathon. I got to hang out with Mimi and Poppa. It was great!

After coming back from San Antonio, Mommy and Daddy decided it was time for me to try cereal. That stuff is delicious! I just wish I could eat it faster. I just want more and more. Here is a few pictures of my first real meal...mmm...it's so good!
